The Historic H. Breeding Farm is
the perfect location for your event. The 3,500 square foot barn and grounds are
rented for all types of events from casual to formal - weddings and receptions,
auctions, family gatherings, business conferences and retreats, seminars,
dances, and other private events. The formal herb garden is the perfect
location for an outdoor wedding.
Please note we generally only rent the
barn and grounds from May to October as the barn is not heated, however if you
are interested in renting during our off-season please contact us. The house is
NOT rented for private events. Should you wish to tour the house please call
BCHS for an appointment. The barn has a kitchenette to accommodate your catering needs.
The barn can accommodate 300 persons. We
have available seating for 160. This includes 160 folding chairs and 30
six-foot banquet tables. Additional tables and chairs may be rented from a
number of vendors in and around Columbus. Please contact BCHS at 812-372-3541 to
schedule an appointment to visit the barn and grounds. For the necessary registration
forms contact the Historical Society.

COMING NORTH ON HIGHWAY 31:
Pass Interstate 65 go through the first stoplight and look for
the big Antique Mall on your right. Take the road to the right
(County Road 800 North) immediately after the Antique Mall you
will go across some train tracks and curve slightly to go over
the interstate. About a half mile past the interstate is a
sign on your left that says Bartholomew County Historical
Society Breeding Farm. Take a left there and it's about a half
mile down on the left.
